Thing #3
As I continue to explore how the blogs work, I am finding myself with endless opportunities that can be utilized while blogging. If I used this blog to better my knowledge as an educator of special needs children, I would blog about my lessons learned and the different experiences that I have throughout the day. This would allow other teachers in my field to get an understanding what methods I have used with different disabilities. It would also allow me to pose questions to other teachers, so it could be used as a learning experience. Many teachers or even parents quickly realize that what does work with one child may not work with the other. In my field of teaching there are so many different types of disabilities that we work with on a daily basis. That being said, it would be nice to have a method of communication that would allow teachers across my township/state to work together to help our students to succeed and reach their individual goals. Also, blogging would create a way to communicate things that are not working. This would then allow the next teacher to either improve upon my ideas or to put it to the wayside because it did not have the desired affect. Like I said, each child will progress at different levels but this blog is not only a way to stay organized but a way to continue to help our students succeed and be the best at what they can be!
It sounds like you have definately got the right idea here. Anything that teachers can use to make things easier on them is very nice and it sounds like that is what you are trying to incorporate here.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with your idea to use the blog to educate yourself. I, too, wrote about that need to gather information from other teachers or share information of a topic of my own.
